A Nigerian woman, identified as Rita, has reportedly recovered ₦3.2 million she claimed disappeared from her savings account with Access Bank after seeking the intervention of social activist VeryDarkMan (VDM).
Rita, who reportedly worked as a cleaner in Dubai, had spent time saving the money before discovering that her funds were no longer in her account.
According to her account, she had repeatedly sought answers and attempted to recover the money, but her efforts allegedly yielded no result for a long period.
However, the situation reportedly changed after she contacted VDM a few days ago and appealed for his intervention.
Following VDM’s intervention and the attention drawn to her case, Access Bank reportedly refunded the full ₦3.2 million to Rita.

The development has also raised fresh concerns about the monitoring and management of bank accounts belonging to customers who may be inactive or deceased.
VDM alleged that funds in some such accounts could be withdrawn or depleted without the account holders or their families immediately becoming aware.
The incident has renewed discussions about the importance of regularly monitoring bank accounts and promptly questioning unexplained transactions.
For Rita, speaking up eventually paid off, as the money she had worked hard to save was reportedly returned to her.
One thing is clear: if Rita had remained silent, would her money have been recovered this quickly?
