President Bola Tinubu has made nine new appointments and forwarded the names of nine nominees to the Senate for screening and confirmation for key government positions.
The nominees include Dr Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as Chairman of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, alongside Muhammad Asma’u, Muhammad Aliyu Makama, Suleiman Gidado, Hon. Louis Ndukwe, Amechi Ugwele and Olaniyi Idowu Onikola as members of the commission.
Tinubu also nominated Engr. Sani Ndanusa as a Non-Career Ambassador/High Commissioner-designate.
The President further nominated Wakil Bulka as a member of the Federal Civil Service Commission representing Bauchi, Borno and Yobe states.
The Senate referred the Fiscal Responsibility Commission nominees to the Committee on Finance, while Ndanusa’s nomination was sent to the Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Bulka’s nomination was referred to the Committee on Establishment and Public Service.
The committees were given two weeks to consider the nominations and submit their reports to the Senate.
This latest development underscores the administration’s push to fill crucial institutional vacancies, ensuring that oversight, fiscal discipline, and diplomatic representations operate at optimal capacity.
