Akmodel Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Builder (Dr.) Abdulhakeem Odegade, has expressed profound appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the nation’s security agencies for their relentless efforts that led to the successful release of the schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Ahoro-Esiele community, Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
In a statement, Dr. Odegade described the safe return of the victims as a major victory for the people of Oyo State and Nigeria, noting that the development has restored hope to the affected families and the entire community.
The victims, comprising 39 pupils and seven teachers, were abducted on May 15, 2026, when heavily armed men invaded Baptist Nursery and Primary School, L.A. Primary School, and Community Grammar School in Ahoro-Esiele community.
After spending nearly two months in captivity, the victims have now regained their freedom following sustained rescue operations carried out by security agencies.
Dr. Odegade commended President Tinubu for providing leadership and demonstrating commitment to protecting the lives and property of Nigerians. He also praised Governor Makinde for his determination, collaboration with security agencies, and consistent efforts to ensure the victims returned home safely.
The Akmodel Group boss equally lauded the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), local security outfits, and all other personnel involved in the operation for their courage, professionalism, and unwavering dedication throughout the rescue mission.
According to him, the successful operation reflects the importance of intelligence-driven security efforts and cooperation among government institutions and security agencies in tackling criminal activities across the country.
Dr. Odegade also congratulated the rescued pupils, teachers, their parents, and the Ahoro-Esiele community on the joyful development, while praying for the speedy recovery of the victims from the emotional and psychological trauma they endured during their captivity.
He further urged governments at all levels and security stakeholders to strengthen measures aimed at protecting schools, communities, and other vulnerable locations to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The release of the schoolchildren and teachers brings an end to a traumatic ordeal that had generated widespread concern across the country and offers renewed hope to residents of the affected community.
