A top Nollywood movie Director, Dimbo Atiya, is dead, with details about how died emerging.
The Founder of the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards, Seun Oloketuyi, announced the death of Atiya on his Instagram page.
Oloketuyi also confirmed this on his WhatsApp Group on Thursday.
He wrote: “Dimba Atiya is dead.
“The top Nollywood director passed on this morning.
“Details later.”
According to available information, the filmmaker died on Thursday morning.
Though details about the cause of Atiya’s death were still sketchy as at press time, though he was unwell.
He was said to have driven himself to the hospital, where he died hours later.
Actor Mofe Duncan also mourned the director on Instagram, describing his death as a huge loss to the entertainment industry.
“God no, not Dimbo. I’m devastated. One of the greatest minds of the entertainment industry,” he wrote.
His death comes hours after that of a Nollywood actress, Temitope Osoba.
