Jashabel Touch-A-Heart Foundation (JTAH) Executive Director, Mrs Favour Benson, has called for renewed hope, unity and compassion as Nigerians reflect on the country’s journey and look towards a brighter future as it celebrates another Independence Day.
In her message to mark the occasion, Benson congratulated Nigerians at home and in the diaspora, describing Independence Day as more than a celebration of freedom, but also a reminder of the collective responsibility to build a nation where every citizen can live with dignity, hope and opportunity.
She noted that Nigeria’s greatest strength remains its people, whose resilience, creativity, courage and determination continue to inspire despite the challenges confronting the nation.
According to her, the celebration should encourage Nigerians to look beyond their differences, show greater understanding and compassion towards one another, and contribute positively to their communities.
Benson also acknowledged the sacrifices and efforts of Nigerians who continue to work, create, care for others and contribute to the development of the country in different ways.
She urged Nigerians, particularly young people, to remain hopeful about the future and to recognise their individual capacity to make a difference.
“As we celebrate our nation, let us remember that the Nigeria we desire begins with the values we uphold and the way we treat one another,” she said.
The JTAH Foundation Executive Director further prayed for peace, progress and greater opportunities for Nigerian families, while expressing hope that the country will continue to move towards a future where the rights, welfare and dignity of every citizen are valued.
She wished Nigerians a peaceful and meaningful Independence Day celebration.
She ended her message with “Happy Independence Day, Nigeria! May our nation continue to find strength in unity, hope in difficult times and purpose in our shared humanity”.
