A one day seminar was organised by the Child Protection Network (CPN) Alimosho chapter to sensitize the public on better ways of handling matters concerning the children.
The convener of the event and Chairman, CPN Alimosho, Rev. (Dr.) Gabriel Oyediji during his welcome address, gave a brief history of the genesis of Child Protection in Nigeria and Lagos in particular.
The keynote speech for the seminar with the theme: “Strengthening Stakeholders Pattern On Child Abuse Reporting And Case Management”, was given by the State Coordinator, Mrs ‘Ronke Oyelakin and it was indeed an interactive session.
Among the dignitaries that graced the event were: the Executive Secretary Domestic and Sexual violence Agency, Mrs Lola Vivor Adeniyi, the Project Head UNICEF Lagos Mr Dennis Onoise, Mrs Bose Ironsi Project Director of WRAHP, Mrs. Ronke Oyelakin, CPN Lagos State Coordinator, Chief Shola Oshunkeye, Immediate past Managing Director, Sun Newspaper.
Others in attendance too are: Senior Police officers, Senior LSNC, Road safety officers, CDC Chairmen, CDA Chairmen, Hausa community members, Igbo community leaders, CAN, PFN, NASFAT, traditional Chief, School Propietors, NYSC members etc.
There was also a segment to appreciate some individuals for their work for humanity. Among the recipients are: Mrs. Bose Ironsi, Mrs. ‘Lola Vivour-Adeniyi, Mrs. Ronke Oyelakin, Chief Shola Osunkeye etc.
