Veteran Nollywood actress and producer, Faithia Williams, is mourning the heartbreaking loss of her mother, who passed away on the eve of the actress’s 55th birthday.
In a poignant statement shared via her official Instagram on Monday, Williams revealed that her mother died on Wednesday, February 4, just hours before her scheduled birthday celebration on Thursday, February 5. To protect her during the festivities, her family made the difficult decision to withhold the news until the conclusion of her Sunday party.
Describing her late mother as a “cheerleader, prayer warrior, best friend, and gist partner,” Williams expressed that the reality of the loss has yet to fully set in.
“Unbeknownst to me, my beloved mother died on the eve of my party, and the news was cruelly kept away from me,” the actress wrote. “Whilst I have taken solace in Allah (SWT), the Williams family has decided to keep things very private for now”.
The award-winning actress has requested love and prayers for herself and her siblings as they navigate this difficult period. The news has triggered an outpouring of condolences from colleagues across the entertainment industry.
The family kindly asks for privacy at this time as they begin funeral preparations.
