The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, October 1, 2025, a public holiday in celebration of Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary.
Announcing this on behalf of the government, Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, congratulated Nigerians at home and abroad on the landmark occasion.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, the minister urged citizens to uphold the values of patriotism, unity, and resilience that have kept the nation going since 1960.
He also encouraged Nigerians to remain committed to President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on national renewal, economic growth, and shared prosperity.
Expressing optimism, Dr. Tunji-Ojo noted that with collective effort, Nigeria will continue to advance in peace, development, and progress.
He extended his best wishes to all Nigerians for a joyful and memorable Independence Day celebration in 2025.
