Nigerians are set to face a three-day movement restriction across the country as the National Housing and Population Census kicks off.
This was revealed by the Chairman of the National Population Commission, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, during a meeting with the Diplomatic Corps in Abuja on Thursday.
The census will begin tentatively on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, and run until Sunday, May 7, 2023.
However, the start date will only be confirmed after consultations with state governors.
Hon. Kwarra also stated that the commission would work with the Minister of Foreign Affairs to determine the best way for the Diplomatic Corps to participate in the exercise.
In a related development, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, spoke earlier, highlighting the importance of the census in Nigeria’s development.
