Popular Nollywood actress Foluke Daramola-Salako has officially entered the political arena, declaring her ambition to represent Oshodi-Isolo Federal Constituency I under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Her declaration followed the submission of her Expression of Interest and Nomination forms at the Oshodi Party Secretariat last weekend – marking a notable shift in a constituency where political contests have largely been male-dominated.
During a strategic meeting with party stakeholders, including APC Chairman in Oshodi, Saheed Animashaun, and the seven Ward Chairmen, Daramola-Salako outlined her vision for inclusive and people-focused representation. She emphasized her readiness and deep commitment to delivering impactful leadership.
“I am not just here to present my forms, but to assure you of my deep commitment and passion for the success of this aspiration,” she stated.
Highlighting her experience in public service and political engagement, she noted that her candidacy is backed by a structured plan aimed at driving sustainable development within the constituency.
As the only female aspirant in the race, Daramola-Salako expressed confidence in her chances, describing her ambition as both purposeful and achievable.
“I am aware that I am the only woman in this contest, and I remain confident and hopeful. I have what it takes to succeed,” she added.
She further pledged to prioritize empathy, accountability, and grassroots development if elected into the 11th National Assembly. According to her, these principles will guide her approach to governance and representation.
“With my experience, empathy, and conscience as a woman, I assure you our people will be proud of my performance. I have the clout and influence to make meaningful change happen,” she said.
With over three decades of engagement spanning policymaking and humanitarian efforts, Daramola-Salako is positioning herself as a formidable contender focused on community-centered development.
In his remarks, Animashaun commended her courage, describing her emergence as a progressive step toward greater inclusivity in Oshodi politics. He also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting credible female aspirants with strong leadership capacity.
As preparations intensify ahead of the APC primaries, Daramola-Salako is expected to continue consultations with key stakeholders across the constituency.
